Sarah Poppy Jackson
My work is inspired by ecoliteracy, regenerative economics, seventh generation thinking, servant leadership, systems theory, ecopsychology and love; based near Bristol I work as a freelance facilitator, coach and mentor around the UK and online.
I’ve been through a huge life transition myself which I share in my work. I studied a degree in conventional economics and worked in corporate marketing and events. After researching climate science, I shifted to the nonprofit sector, joined Greenpeace, and finally left the UK in 2010 on an unknown journey to South America to unlearn my unconscious conditioning and learn how to live more in harmony with nature from the global south.
When I returned three years later in 2013, I started my work in education and facilitation, alongside my activism, working at an environmental education centre and then gaining experience on a masters degree in Regenerative Economics from Schumacher College/Plymouth University.
I am now a fellow of the Schumacher Institute, director and co-founder of Catalista, director and co-founder of Strode Waterfall Land & Story Project, I steward land with regenerative, permaculture and agroforestry principles Soil Association certified, member of Nature & Health Practitioners Network and Climate Psychology Alliance, author of Reclaim Your Sh*t! and mother to a young daughter.
I love to work with people who are tired of business-as-usual and want to take action towards a more life-sustaining culture.

Testimonials
"Sarah Poppy guided us through the session with care and tact, allowing space for us to express our uncertainties without fear of sounding silly or uninformed. I left the session with far greater clarity about the essentials of climate science, feeling much more equipped to discuss it with friends and family. Having time to sit with our feelings about the climate crisis, discuss these feelings, understand where they come from, and make them useful in finding solutions was the most important part of the training for me.
There were two things which I particularly appreciated about the training. The first was the lack of screens- I found it much easier to engage with both the topic and the team when we used the space more physically than virtually. The second was the language you used Sarah, which often related to kindness and consideration, making space for each other and our emotions. I think this kind of language is rarely found in workplace training, and I would assume it is because it is considered less valuable, and perhaps too "feminine" or "fluffy". I think when we are discussing the climate crisis - and its consequential ecological and human violence - it is absolutely vital that we talk about it with humanity and kindness, so thank you for doing so." Shona, Trust & Programme Officer, Temwa

"Sarah is a bright light and if you get the chance to work with her, do. Her astute Economics trained brain + her huge heart and coaching skills + pioneering studies at Schumacher makes her a huge asset to any project or person in transition." Lydia Campbell, Transformational Coach
"I had the absolute pleasure of participating in a With Many Roots programme while Sarah was facilitating a Climate Fresk workshop. Sarah went above and beyond in teeing up innovative solutions that ultimately helped participants move along some of their biggest priorities. She communicated clearly and transparently, and navigated complex ideas with ease. Sarah is also a great trainer - personable, collaborative, impact focussed and fun. I sincerely hope I have the opportunity to get another programme with Sarah in the future!" Anna Zelcer, Sustainability Manager & CSR Program Leader
"Sarah Poppy Jackson is a brilliant facilitator, she handles the discussion with great care and is very knowledgeable. I cannot recommend highly enough." Jo Hook, Director Temwa - NGO working in Malawi
"I guess these two days have been the most life changing I've had in my life. The reason is that the programme is built in such a way that every individual has something to pick up from it; something that could transform you, not just as a leader but as an individual, and affect both you and the community around you. So I'd suggest this programme to any single person alive, to anyone out there. It's something that everyone needs to go through at some point in their life." Virinchi, University of Greenwich on Awareness-Based Leadership Programme
"I had the pleasure of working with Sarah at the Bay Trust - we were both employed to develop a Volunteer Engagement Program for the Trust. Sarah was an asset in the team, a keen action focused individual with a true understanding of sustainable issues. She stood out as a great leader and mentor, helping to manage, coach and support a number of interns, volunteers and employed staff on various projects. I would whole heartily recommend Sarah for work as a coach or mentor. A true star with masses of potential." Marc Carey, Innovation/Sustainable Business/Director
"I have had the chance to work with Sarah in different English teaching projects. I admire and respect both her professionalism and her charisma. The thing that I like the most about her is that her experience at different levels of leadership has allowed her to become very sensitive to social dynamics. She knows how to create rapport, which is, in my view the most important skill when it comes to leading a group towards personal and/or shared goals." Mauricio Aldana - Professor of Autonomous Learning & Social and Emotional Learning at Institución Universitaria Colombo Americana UNICA
"Sarah is a brilliant coach and facilitator. She has warm, compassionate and caring manner and has the rare ability to be truly present, enabling her to have great awareness and allowing her to serve the needs she sees in front of her. I couldn't recommend Sarah highly enough." Neel Parti, Facilitator, Coach, Trainer
